Saggy or larger than normal labia minora and labia majora are the most common complaints among women. For this reason, labia minora and labia majora aesthetics, i.e. labiaplasty operation is performed.
What is Labiaplasty?
Labiaplasty is one of the vaginal aesthetic operations performed to eliminate sagging or reduce the size of labia minora and labia majora. Labiaplasty is mainly applied for problems observed in labia minora.
If labia minora are larger than normal due to various reasons, they cause sagging. This condition is one of the most common aesthetic problems encountered. The excess tissues on oversized and saggy labia minora are removed by the specialized and experienced surgeons and then reshaped during operation.
How are Vaginal Tightening Operations Performed?
One of the vaginal aesthetic operations is vaginoplasty called vaginal tightening. Genetic traits in women generally create a disadvantage and this condition has a negative impact on the health and psychology of the individual.
Excessive number of births or thin and extremely elastic skin causes sagging and enlargement in the vaginal area. Vaginal muscles begin to lose their strength. Pelvic floor muscle (Kegel) exercises must be done to help vaginal muscles regain their strength.
Excessive number of births, and therefore, incisions made to facilitate the delivery of the newborn reduce the muscle strength as well as causing enlargement of the vagina. This makes it difficult for the vagina to recover. Therefore, vaginoplasty, i.e. vaginal tightening operations are required.
Vaginal tightening operations are performed under general anesthesia. The operation, which takes about an hour, is generally performed at the same time with labiaplasty operations to prevent sagging of labia minora.
Hymenoplasty
Hymenoplasty is often considered in genital aesthetic operations. Hymen repair is considered in genital aesthetic operations due to social or domestic reasons.
How are Perineal Tears After Childbirth Repaired?
Some perineal tears are formed in the genital area called perineum in women due to childbirth. Such perineal tears may cause functional and aesthetic problems for women. Perineal tears may cause certain problems such as pain during sexual intercourse and being unable to have sexual intercourse in many women.
Within the scope of genital aesthetic operations, perineal tears after childbirth are also corrected. These operations called perineal aesthetics or perineoplasty are performed at the same time with vaginoplasty, i.e. vaginal tightening operations.
Perineoplasty operation is performed on the funnel-like muscle tissue. The tags of this muscle tissue are correctly joined together, and such tags are aligned and sutured together.
Vaginal (Mons Pubis) Augmentation
Another vaginal aesthetic operation is vaginal augmentation, i.e. mons pubis operation. After a fast and easy procedure, the person returns to its everyday life within a short period of time.
Vaginal augmentation procedure is performed by two methods as hyaluronic acid and fat filler injection. Hyaluronic acid filler is effective from 6 to 9 months and it is a bit costly. Allergen risk may occur although it is rare. Fat injections are performed by two methods as liposuction and lipofilling. Fats are taken from a part of the body using special cannulas and then injected into labia majora by lipofilling.
Lipofilling procedure takes about an hour. Since small incisions are made, these procedures do not require sutures. The person returns to her everyday life 2 days after the lipofilling procedure. After the procedure, the person must refrain from hot baths, saunas, and Turkish baths, and she must not engage in intensive exercise and sexual intercourse for a period of 1 month.
